What Is Yoga Mentoring?

Yoga mentoring is a personalized and specialized approach to yoga that addresses your specific physical, emotional, and mental health needs. Unlike group yoga classes, yoga mentoring sessions are tailored entirely to you—your body, your history, your goals, and what you need in each moment. Whether you're healing from trauma, managing chronic pain, navigating life transitions, or simply seeking deeper self-connection, each session is designed around where you are today.

How It Works?

We start with a free consultation to understand your needs and goals. Then in our personalized sessions, I guide you through breath work, gentle movement, meditation, and other holistic practices suited to your body and your history. Sessions are 90 minutes and available virtually or in-person. You don't need any prior yoga experience—just a willingness to begin where you are.

  1. Compassionate listening. You don't need to be anywhere other than exactly where you are right now. Hurting, tired, curious, skeptical, hopeful—all of it is welcome.

  2. Integrated healing modalities. Sessions draw from yoga, meditation, hypnotherapy, breathwork (pranayama), movement, art therapy, and balance work—tools for holistic healing and restoration tailored to your needs.

  3. Your own pace. There's no rush, no timeline, no expectation of perfection. We take it one session at a time, trusting the process.

The Maitri Collective Approach

Maitri means loving kindness in Sanskrit. My practice is built on this principle: pain has a message we can listen to with compassion, beginning with acceptance of where we are and what we might need.

Customer Experiences

Long-term relationships built on trust, compassion, and real results.

Shauna has been my teacher for multiple years now, both in person and virtually. Her depth of knowledge about yoga, pranayama, trauma-informed support, and spirituality is immense. I am grateful for the support and guidance that she has offered me through various chapters of my life - direct, honest, compassionate, and with my own capacity and best interests at heart. Highly recommended. R.M.

I have been practicing yoga with Shauna for over 13 years. Shauna meets her students where they are in their daily life. She has a special intuition and shares her knowledge in an encouraging manner. Each week's practice responds to how I feel physically, mentally, and spiritually. She has been a prominent person in my recovery over the twelve years since I had Bell's Palsy, a neurological virus. As a 72-year-old woman, I have never felt more flexible, knowledgeable about my body, and stronger in spirit. T.F

Her deep knowledge of the practice—rooted in decades of experience—goes far beyond physical postures. She has a remarkable ability to help align not just the body, but also the mind and emotions.

Each session with Shauna is both grounding and uplifting. Whether you're looking for stress relief, physical wellness, or emotional clarity, she creates a space that is welcoming, supportive, and profoundly healing. N.W
